January Renovations

In the fall months, when the garden was cleaned up and tools put away in the garage basement, we noticed that the ceiling was in desperate need of repair.  Barb had specialists look at the situation, and they determined that part of the garage flooring could not withstand heavy weight-bearing. So, one of the cars could not be driven into the space that was atop the basement ceiling.  At the end of December, the project was initiated, and we had people working through the bitter cold fixing the problem.  The basement was partially filled with cement (6 truckloads), and a narrow storage space was constucted with cinder blocks.  What a relief to be able to have a fully functioning garage again, especially in the cold winter months.
